Yeah, I hear you, I have a neighbor that I have spoken to about his German Sheppard and he and his wife say “it’s the squirrels in your backyard”, basically their dog would not bark if I didn’t have tree rats. Talking does no good, so I got a Bark stop, that worked for a while and then started to make an audible noise that upset the neighbors, so I told him if you don’t like that noise then shut your dog up. Well he is an idiot and I kind of backed down and stopped using the bark stop and of course the dog is barking none stop. Today I finally called the county and reported a nuisance dog. I have no doubt my courteous neighbor will ask me if I reported him and be pissed. My response will be then SHUT YOUR F**KING DOG UP. I love people that get upset when someone reports their bad behavior.

It’s a customer’s website that is being bombarded, and it’s at such a level that plugins don’t particularly matter. They’re already using captchas. It’s the 60+ simultaneous hits per second to a ridiculously cpu hungry script, regardless if it’ll register the comment or not, over and over again. What’s worse is that the attacks are now distributed, versus the ‘old way’ of a single point of attack. The server load skyrockets as MT tries to throw away all those bogus comments, eventually causing Apache to crash and burn.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

That’s the type of filter I’m complaining about now, actually. ;)

I bought the Eheim ecco 2234 canister this past Saturday. I think there’s actually a bushing/bearing missing from the ceramic shaft though, causing it to be a bit noisier than it should be.

Perhaps I can suggest a canister filter. I have a 75 gal. acrylic tank with a canister filter and the thing is literally silent. I picked up a canister filter for my old 30 gal. tank for around $70USD, this one was obviously a bit more pricey, but worth saving my ears. :)
