hey indiboi,
testing for v0.635 has already started, so we’re not accepting new testers at the moment. if you want to test for v0.64, e-mail us again after v0.635 comes out and we’ll set you up.
thanks,
- scott
Scott,
the fact that beta testing for .635 has already began is not an acceptable reason to me for being disallowed beta testing privledges. how many people who are beta testing are actually contributing to the process? i, unlike a majority of trillian users, did not jump on the beta tester bandwagon when i first downloaded it, but with the extension of my personal desire for involvement, esp with the skinning that i have been doing (which has not been mentioned in the forums for obvious reasons of idea theft) it would be certainly beneficial for me to be able to have the most current
versions of the software to begin to tailor the skins to the new features that are being released. the fact the beta testing process has already started certainly does not preclude another person (me) from being able to notice problems with the software under development and find possible reasons and or solutions to such problems. as postings in the forums would prove, i have been sufficiently involved noticing software bugs and determining how and when they will happen, and the possible reasons, and this is in an unofficial manner, it would only be appropriate to make it official so that i have access to the software before it is released to the general public, as i’m certain i would be able to provide excellent input to help further the development. please reconsider the decision you have made previously.
sorry, but the rules are the rules. you had over 2 months to apply as a
tester… i’m not singling you out. i’ve sent the same e-mail out to 10 other people, all of whom were more than happy to be included in v0.64’s cycle.
we don’t think people are incapable of finding bugs. we simply don’t want to deal with the repetition of a latecoming beta tester. these are our rules, and they assist us in providing you guys with the best software possible by expediting the beta cycle.
i’m sorry if you’re upset. RC1 will be available publically, and you’ll have an opportunity to fix up your skins then.

I just thought I should bring your attention to this:
http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/development.html
———————————————————-
Development
We are currently accepting applicants for the Trillian beta testing team.
Requirements:
You put forth an honest effort into crashing Trillian and locating bugs.
You notify us of all such events through the web forums; this implies that you’ve created an account and have beta access. Beta access will be granted to you after you create an account.
If you fail to provide commentary throughout a beta cycle, you will be removed from the listing without further notice.
Pretty basic, right? All we’re interested in is getting valuable feedback from dedicated testers; we’re not looking to sign up any freeloaders, so make sure you’re serious about testing before applying. We may decide at any point to close the doors to future beta testers due to overfill. In the meantime, should you be interested and agree with the above terms, please send an e-mail to beta@ceruleanstudios.com with your forum account and acknowledgement of the above terms.

The doors are obviously not closed due to overfill, as you suggested I contact you regarding .64.
heh… you can’t win a technicality battle when i’m the one who wrote that webpage. :)

that’s the biggest bunch of bullshit i’ve ever seen. you’re implying that i would be incapable of reading posts and would cause repitition, which is the farthest from the truth. i don’t care if you say it isn’t personal, it’s garbage.
and in regards to the technicality battle… that webpage best be changed, because you ARE NOT accepting applicants and it clearly states that you ARE accepting applicants.
you’ve shown clearly that my involvement is not appreciated, remove my forum username, i will no longer be posting on any subject matter.
and his ultra-professional last word
we set rules, as is our right. if you don’t want to follow them, so be it, but we’re certainly going to enforce them to the best of our abilities.
of course we appreciate your involvement, your skins, etc… need i remind you that we offer a *free* software package? need i remind you that we respond to all user inquiries, always doing our best to help out and accept suggestions?
who the fuck made you king of the world? why should i let *you* in, when everyone else gets denied until v0.64? what makes you so special? grow up. we bust our asses to help you guys out and produce good software, and in return, you act like a spoiled little 2 year old who doesn’t get his way.
grow up.
