okay… so i’m on my second run trying to download the linux mandrake 8.1 cd1. the first time it went up to 800ish MB… which is WAY more than it should be… max 679MB, yeah… …okay, second time, it’s doing the same thing, what the fuck? what is wrong that it won’t stop?!
well, i’m in an auction at ebay trying to get some ram at a decently low price, a little less than 8 hours to go, three pieces of 512MB, one for each me and my brothers. It’s a dutch auction, with 15 pieces, so it might end up costing less than that, but we agreed to go up to 40 each, otherwise it gets to be the same price as just buying it, which is pointless. I’d love to have more memory though, will be sweet ;) will give me 640 technical MB of ram… and if i ever get memory from that guy… i’ll have 768MB of ram, which will be hella sweet! :) Eventually though I think i’ll just deck this one out to full bore, with 1.5GB of ram… sweeeeet! lol… can i say sweet anymore times? but ugh, waiting, sucks!
i’m totally loving my broadband connection though, my god, it’s hellish fast. I just need to find an open slot on the mandrake linux or KDE site so i can update my installation.
Well, I’m definitely buying ram at this point, hopefully through the auction, but the next thing i want to get is a much much larger harddrive, probably 60GB i think. Maybe if i’m scrimping on the price I’ll get a 40GB. I of course am supposed to be saving for the server… oops… well I’ll do my best. ;)

well… i almost have my system back to normal, and of course it is using tons and tons of ram per usual, lol… :) i have a few more programs to install, and tweak though… but so far everything seems to be in order.
my pet peeve for today, people who close their personal website seemingly every other week/month, it’s just a bit ridiculous, i kind of wish one person in particular would actually close it, instead of doing that on and off bullshit.
okay, well, after a torment of annoyances lastnight with the router, it’s finally installed and we have our broadband connected, the speed is just utterly amazing… makes my head spin. I’ve reinstalled win2k pro and ditched the server version. Things seem to be running much better now because of that, though I’ve had a 13 hours of MS office problems… to an incorrect CD key, to a screwed up service pack, that was absolutely irritating, but everything seems to be okay with that now too. I just have a massive list of programs I need to reinstall of course… sickeningly annoying, but now i can download at 750kbps… was downloading a 10MB file in one minute, my eyes bugged out of my head, lol.
