oooh gnome!

I’ll have to add a screenshot later, but I decided to play around with gnome lastnight after trying the evolution email program, which is totally awesome… heh… ximian gnome is brilliantly awesome…. I’m very happy with it at the moment. I still cannot sync my palm but I’m a hell of a lot closer than I was.

I’m very much considering installing linux on my c: drive once I get my powerbook… hopefully by then mandrake 8.2 will be out… and I’ll be able to go that route… of course I might want to go the redhat route too… could still have both of course. I have a renewed interest in all of this now., i guess… ximian gnome is much faster than KDE and looks much much more “polished” too. It feels more stable. Anyway, though, I have tinkering to do, lol.

haha windows is true evil

yes, yet another post about windows and linux and my lust for the powerbook.

I was attempting to get the software installed so that I could use my palm pilot… nothing too amazing there… it’s been burning at me… well… everything was going pretty good… even install office, but it was doing that annoying you have to register me every fucking time thing… and of course you can’t reregister so that’s a hassle… but anyway…

In the process of updating office to fix the security holes and all that fun… well the damn thing rebooted… and now windows won’t load again… back to linux again…. i swear… damn thing… windows sucks…

If i were at all popular… oh wait, I mean some skinny little whoreboi who gets naked on camera, or… well… close to naked… so that I can entice people to send me money through paypal.. well… I’d think of doing that… but I’m an adult… and the creepy old men aren’t interested in my non-twink body… haha… but anyway… if only…

anyway… i really should just give up… I’ll format my windows c: drive (hda) and then move all the stuff from hde (my newish 40GB ata 100 drive) over to it… So that’ll be my project then I guess…

sigh… i wish davey were here… and he’d force me away from the computer…. for a long time!

my palm and other stuff

I really want to sync my palm… it’s almost enough to want to attempt to boot back into windows… install all of the palm software (oh what fun, that would include installing Office 2k again, yuck, that’s a pain in the ass to install) and sync it up… I’m always slightly afraid that it’ll end up deleting everything in my palm in the process though, it has happened before after all.

I’m still of course drooling over the powerbook or any any product, though I’m beginning to become efficient using linux for all of my daily tasks.

I’d be one horrible boyfriend lately I think… I was thinking about that lastnight… depressed, lots of frustrating issues… with computers and with former “co-workers” and such… i feel like I’m drifting away from davey at warp speed… not intentionally… or I guess I should say not consciously… though perhaps there are legitimate reasons… the subconscious kicking in to prevent myself from being hurt… I think it all started when I started writing my bio… I remembered all of the good stuff and… all of the bad stuff… which seems to outweigh anything good…. I need a vacation.

shit… lost my post

guh… okay, reminder, never do a search while typing a sidebar post in netscape 6.x.

Anyway, I was saying that I might be able to handle the linux only thing… I’m pretty much giving up on windows with the exception of various other little things here and there… like photoshop, i don’t even want to try that under an emulater like wine… would be dumb I think.

I really look forward to being able to get my powerbook though… hopefully it will live up to all expectations. I’ll probably always need a windows computer… but I think I’ll probably end up buying one or working with my brother to build a relatively good but fairly cheap one… in the six hundred dollar range, like the ones he’s been building. So that way I’ll have my dedicated windows/linux computers without a problem… and I’ll just keep this one around as a server of sorts… I think it’s doable… it’ll take a while though… saving up all the money for the various bits and pieces… but I’m definitely getting an apple product to start with… the powerbook.

I’m a bit annoyed though… i can’t seem to figure out how to integrate pgp into kmail… and still… I’m not sure what to do with the whole palm aspect… sigh… i’m probably repeating things continously….

success i guess

well… after tooling around in linux all day… discovering there are certain things that just don’t work as well as they should… it confirmed my “need all three” operating systems mantra. Well… I have win2k working again… of course I’m not rushing to reinstall anything… especially ms office, since it was a total pain in the ass to reinstall the last time.

I’m still sickened… especially with loss of certain things on the drive… I really hope that the majority of them I’d backedup… …I think I did… but I won’t find out for a few days probably as I sift through various cdrs and cdrws.

I’m exhausted… and pissed… and… want things I can’t have.
