I have just one more page left to do for the new Positive Fusion site, and that’s the reviews page. Any of the Positive Fusion clients are certainly welcome to send me a review to include on that page… hopefully I’ll have enough to put it up tomorrow evening with the new site design.
My kitty Harry really needs to learn the difference between my finger and the kitty treat I’m feeding him! As you may already have gathered from that statement, Harry bit my finger this morning, and it hurts!
I also really need to get a new webcam… I’m still strongly leaning towards on of those ethernet enabled cameras… they’re really expensive, but they’re good and I wouldn’t ever have to worry about OS compatibility.
Well, I think I have perlbill setup enough so that I’ll be able to actually use it… I’m a bit confused about integrating existing accounts… I think they’ll be listed as normal accounts versus having the ability to delete/suspend/unsuspend them from within the billing centre… but, oh well… I suppose that’s okay.
I’m really tired… been sleeping off and on most of the day, while waiting for various things to get taken care of… an effort to maximize the time I can actually work them.
I really wish I could go lay down with davey though, would make working on this stuff so much more enjoyable, knowing that I could go cuddle with him … and I suspect he’d pry me away periodically too.
Other than that… I don’t really have much to say… will sleep a bit, and work some more.
Well, I think that the PB author is trying to help me out, sent me a new file as part of the scripts, unfortunately it doesn’t work yet.
I decided to take a break… a real break, the kind where I’m not actually working on anything…. so I watched Lord of the Rings… hmmm… that was interesting, epic, kinda, but nothing too exciting really. Harry and Toji came up and ‘chilled’ on my lap/tummy while I was watching it though, which was cute… reminded me of being with Davey though, with us snuggling on the couch… so, I was mostly thinking about him throughout the film; I really want to be with him again… and soon. I think I’ll spare everyone from going on and on again about that though.
Hopefully I’ll get this Perlbill thing solved before too long today… :)
**update @ 08:59** Well, turns out that the perlbill guy was able to add additional variables for me, so I now have it working properly! Yay! I still have tons upon tons of work of course… but now I know that it’ll work right.
So, I’m trying to get perlbill completely setup to a point where I’ll be comfortable with it handling orders. Unfortunately I’m having a great bit of difficulty trying to get the payment processing integrated with it, it seems like it will handle one-time payments without issue, but not having it work right with the automatic rebilling will be a total turn-off. I do not want it that I paid $150 for something to simply function as an order taker and helpdesk, the part of the point of this is so that it will show only the payment link necessary. I’m really quite tired and frustrated at this point…. *sigh*
It will work fine if I want to require everyone to manually go and pay their bill every month… but for it to work out the ‘right’ way with automatic rebills… I’m clueless. The perlbill guy talked in such a way as to lead me to believe I could get the recurring billing to work… but… I can’t find a way.
I think I’ve found a way to do -monthly- paypal subscriptions, but I think I’ll need a separate link for quarterly payments.
Unfortunately, it looks like my Monday morning relaunch of Positive Fusion isn’t going to happen… I’ve spent two entire days with this perlbill bullshit and I’ve basically gotten NOTHING done because of the bullshit yesterday and now the total lack of concise instruction and overall confusion.
I can’t exactly finish the other pages until I have this taken care of, because I need to link into it!
