The oatmeal, milk, & honey soap turned out quite lovely, no separation, a warm honey brown colour… at least the portion of the batch in the 3″ round pvc pipe, the “leftover” portion that I put in the martha mold is much lighter and not as solid. The Vanilla soap has a dark rind around the outside and a lighter toffee colour on the inside — I suspect that the lighter inside area will darken like the rest (Vanilla has a strong tendency to turn anything with it in brown). The Chamomile tea facial soap had a little oil ooze out of it, but otherwise appears to be fine; although, there’s still a light burnt odor to it, but that should go away soon.

I’m pretty much at my breaking point as to how much soap I can cure on the racks, lol, but I think I might be able to squeeze one more facial batch in before calling it quits for a while.

I’ve learned that if I “dress” the soap by using water to soften and polish it, and then wait a day or two before stamping, the stamp appears much better… the Tangerine facial soap has a beautiful gloss all over it now. So, I guess that means I’ll be smoothing out the edges and polishing soap from now on and then waiting before stamping it. :)
