This isn’t working!
Okay, so yesterday evening I went to walmart to get some extra batting, applied it, stretched the lovely chenille fabric over it, thus the headboard was completed. The only obstacle left was actually attaching it to the bedframe.
I had this less than brilliant idea to spray paint the 2×4s that I was going to use as the “legs” of the headboard silver. Well, hours upon hours upon hours upon hours later it’s still sticky! So, yeah, that was stupid, the damn spray paint never dried… even though it’s supposed to dry in an hour! Fucking lying corporate america! So, I wrapped it in some of that white fabric… figured that would solve the problem, haha..
Well, my brother has been borrowing my cordless drill — I come to find out that he hadn’t charged it, so after drilling two of the six holes required for the bolts it ran out of juice. Fine, I’ll get the regular drill, even though it’s really loud and obnoxious to use. SO I finally got the holes drilled. So I’m measuring the distance required between the two legs… this isn’t working, I can’t get them far enough apart because of the upholstery… great, never thought of that!
So, fuck it, I know I said I wasn’t going to attach it to the wall, but I KNOW that way will work. Only problem is that I need another 2×4… since the ones I was going to use are now pretty disgusting from the sticky never going to dry spray paint. I’m hoping that Lowe’s is still going to be open on Labor day… damn holidays getting in the way of my projects! So I’m off to go try to get a fucking 2×4, and I ought to pick up some liquid nails while I’m at it.
