Loose Ends.

I just couldn’t, or perhaps didn’t want to, sleep lastnight. Once I finally got to that required state of unconsciousness I stayed there until about six in the evening yesterday. Maybe it’s all part of some subsconscious avoidance policy in effect, or I just shattered my sleep schedule from working on that room for so many hours at once.

The room is looking pretty awesome though, it’s serene and comfortable, if a little empty. My mum asked me when I was going away for a a few days [weeks], presumably so that she can sleep in the bed, heh. I still have some feelings that buying that bed and getting that room ready was a bit ill-timed, or otherwise a waste of money and effort. I really do know that it is completely worth it, but I’m just really… fragile, for lack of any other way to say it.

So, once I finally woke up today I started out on the process of making more soap labels. I finally have together the package of samples to send out to the woman interested in purchasing them wholesale. I also decided that since I’m already going to brave the post office I really need to also get together some of the stuff for Cole and send that out to him. I guess part of me was procrastinating on that one because I’d rather just give him the stuff in person. So, sandalwood candle, various facial soaps and the salt scrub soap that I’d made with him in mind, and I also made some more Vanilla Lotion, this time in an 8oz bottle. Oh, and several cds… since he lost the majority of his music collection last month thanks to winblows. Let’s just call it the “indi care package” or something similar… heh.

I went back to the original formula for the lotion (the one he was given) with the exception of exchanging aloe butter for the coconut oil (aloe butter is aloe infused coconut oil). The thing about lotion is that you can’t judge how it turned out until at least the next day, because it needs time to thicken and somehow the scent magically intensifies overnight too. The new scale is marvelously accurate, I’m so glad I finally bought a “real” one, versus a “food” scale. If I can find the motivation I’m going to attempt to create the aftershave cream, but I just don’t really see that happening, plus I still can’t find my Vetiver EO.
