Lounge to-do list.
This is pretty much for my own motivational purposes, haha. Don’t bother to read unless you’re really interested in how I’m spending my time in the middle of the night.
Need to get more “Roman Violet” high-gloss enamel
Apply 2nd coat of blue paint to coffee table
Apply 3rd/touchup coat of blue paint to side table (maybe)
Apply 2nd coat of silver paint to coffee table in 24 hours - Mask off blue parts.
Clear coat coffee table & door (3 coats 2H apart)
Realize that “professional enamel” bonds just as well to “properly prepared surfaces” as it does to skin and spend an hour in the shower only to result in still having spots of paint all over me.
Then… Move all the shit out of the way (*groan*)
Paint Ceiling — mask off new light fixture
Apply one coat of primer to panelled surfaces
Paint all walls their respective colours.
Then… Throw most of the shit previously moved away.
Install new IKEA shelving and realize I didn’t get enough.
Place huge area rug
Place cute IKEA rug bought months upon months ago
Then… Realize that the couch is yet to be purchased… d’oh.
I’m *almost* done with all of the furniture, thankfully. The side table could use another coat of paint, I was a bit too conservative when applying it. Lowe’s opens in 1.5 hours and you better believe I’ll be there at 6am to get that new quart of “Roman Violet” paint, haha.
I still need to decide what to do with the “closet” doors at the front of the room. I was thinking of perhaps painting them the darker colour, but I’m not sure I’ll have enough of that left. Perhaps I’ll just go with the trust rustoleum aluminum enamel, hah! Maybe I’ll just paint them the same colour as the walls, because I don’t want to draw attention to their ugliness?
Thursday, hmmm… and I want to have this all done by next week, uhhh… Yeah, I think I’m insane. Actually, it only took a couple of days to paint the bedroom area and put down carpet. I can do it, it’s just the whole furniture thing that is really bogging me down. Each surface of the furniture pieces have between six and seven layers applied, primer, paint, clearcoat, etc… each of which has a specific and lengthy recoat time and of course which also needs to be sanded between coats.
Yeah, so… for now, finish watching the 2nd LOTR, then head to Lowe’s, apply the blue paint and SLEEP. Wake up around noon, HAH, instead of six pm (it’s difficult to know when to wake up and actually get out of bed when there are no windows!) and… uhm… yeah, we’ll see what happens then.
