Evil Technology.

I came in from gardening a little while ago and noticed that my phone had a curious display of “Contact Service” on it instead of the normal sort of stuff I would expect to see. I did a google search and discovered that this “Contact Service” message meant that the phone had keeled over, lovely. I call customer service and investigate my options, basically I’m screwed; meaning that I need to buy a new phone. I’m less than thrilled… I have a few different options, but none of them are looking particularly appealing at the moment. The only good thing that came out of it is that I’m not longer “Smart Access” which means the company feels I’m no longer a bad credit risk, whee, kinda. I could go and activate a new line of service under my current account, but then I’d have one phone and two phone numbers, which seems utterly silly to me. The woman I spoke with suggested that I visit a T-Mobile store and see if they have any sort of better deals, because they tend to vary. I don’t know, bleh… I think I’ll call them back again in a little bit and see if I can wrangle a better deal. Totally cancelling and starting over still looks better than anything they can give me, customer loyalty aside. I’m definitely not going to pay anything for a phone they’d give for free to a new customer.
