Screw ‘em — or not….
Remember about six months ago when I was sort of interested in Banana Republic boy? I started giving thought to getting rid of the Pittsburgh phone number, etc, and how T-Mobile still didn’t have any local numbers for me? I tried to get a phone through AT&T, but they viewed me as being a bad credit risk, etc, and I needed to pay an extra $200? That’s what kept me from even really bothering, mostly, the fact that BR boy was really flakey only aided the decision to just keep with what I had.
Since T-Mobile viewed me as being eligible to have a ‘normal’ plan and as I mentioned below their ‘deal’ with me wasn’t all that great for a new phone… I gave AT&T Wireless another shot… much to my ungodly shock they approved me! I now have a shiny new Sony Ericsson T226 on the way, with roughly the same plan as I have now for roughly the same cost per month. The only ‘problem’ is that I won’t have a phone for a few days, but then again unless the T-Mobile store would have been able to help me right then and there I wouldn’t have had a phone for a few days anyway.
Just so I don’t accidently shoot myself in the foot, I’ll be waiting until I have the new phone in my hands and I know it works before cancelling the T-Mobile account. I definitely don’t want to find out the AT&T website made a mistake and they don’t actually send me one, lol.
I was right to have hesitation… I got my confirmation of the web order and half an hour later I received a ‘message’ indicating that they cancelled the order because I didn’t meet their credit qualifications. ARGH!!!
