Go Fly A Kite.
I’m not sure what planted the idea in my head that I wanted to go kite flying, but sure enough the idea started growing. I finally started looking around and I think I decided which one to consider getting. I’m trying to start off ’small’ instead of going totally overboard like I tend to do with everything, so I chose this little beauty, the Vision. It’s a stunt kite, one that uses two lines instead of the traditional single line. It’s also a fairly inexpensive ‘beginner model’ too, coming in at roughly $35.
Actually, it’s not so little when thinking of the kites we would have flown as children. The ‘wingspan’, width, or whatever you want to call it is just slightly more than five feet. That seems huge, right? That’s what I was thinking, wow, five feet! The only thing I can say is that I hope I’m not disappointed by the size, heh. I’m making a bit of a compromise here, because I don’t want to spend a small fortune. I could get a bigger one for a hell of a lot more money, or I could get a much bigger ‘traditional’ delta for roughly the same price. I want a stunt kite because I think it’d be more fun, but I don’t want to end up wasting too much money whenever I destroy it by nosedive. I suppose, if I really enjoy it, I could always upgrade.
Insanely long ago, back when I was in highschool, I went on this little picnic with this boy. We went to the park in Waynesboro right when everyone was out flying their kites, it really was an amazing scene. I cannot help but think of how fun it would be to go there with someone and do that again, this year. With this particular kind of kite you really do need two people to get it launched into the air, since you don’t do any unwinding of the line once it’s up there, seems perfect, right? ;)
